KM&A Files Lawsuit Against Sheetz, Inc.

Kraemer, Manes & Associates LLC “KM&A” has filed a complaint against Sheetz, Inc. on behalf of Douglas Allego in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

The complaint alleges that Plaintiff was discriminated against, harassed, and ultimately terminated from Sheetz, Inc. for being an openly gay man who did not conform to the gender norms set forth by Sheetz, Inc.  Plaintiff was denied promotion opportunities and training that other, heterosexual employees at the same experience level, were permitted. The complaint further alleges that the Plaintiff was regularly harassed and discriminated based on his sexual orientation and was terminated due a false statement made to management by a coworker.  The Plaintiff’s claims of harassment and a hostile work environment were never investigated by Sheetz, Inc.

The complaint alleges that the defendant has violated: Title VII, PHRA, 43 P.S § 951 et. seq.- Sexual Harassment and Gender Discrimination and Allegheny County, Ch. 215, Title V, §215.30 et seq. – Discrimination on the Basis of Sexual Orientation
