FORMER EMPLOYEE FILES SUIT AGAINST SENIORSITTERS, INC., FOR UNPAID OVERTIME

PITTSBURGH, PA, May 6, 2016 – Gioia Schreckengost, on behalf of herself and similarly situated current and former employees, filed an unpaid overtime suit against Seniorsitters, Inc. (“Seniorsitters”) alleging that Seniorsitters willfully failed to pay her and other similar-situated employees overtime in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act, Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act, and Pennsylvania Wage Payment & Collection Law.

Ms. Schreckengost accepted a position as a caregiver with Seniorsitters in March, 2015. Seniorsitters offers services to seniors, including but not limited to meal preparation, bed making, washing of clothes, and housekeeping.  In performing their job duties, Ms. Schreckengost and other similarly situated employees would often work in excess of 40 hours per week.  However, Seniorsitters unlawfully failed to pay Ms. Schreckengost and other similarly situated employees the appropriate overtime wage, and instead paid them their regular hourly wage.

Ms. Schreckengost is represented by Kraemer, Manes & Associates LLC, a law firm focused on representing employees and protecting employee rights. The attorneys on this case are Elizabeth Pollock-Avery, Esq., and Nelson D. Berardinelli, Esq.
