KM&A Files Suit Against UPMC Shadyside

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

August 25, 2014

Kraemer, Manes & Associates LLC has filed a complaint against UPMC Shadyside on behalf of Arquita Coleman in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.

The complaint alleges that UPMC Shadyside failed to provide property employment or reemployment to Ms. Coleman under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act.  Ms. Coleman suffered injuries while in the line of duty with the Army Reserves that resulted in her being physically unable to perform certain aspects of her job duties with UPMC after being returned home from active duty secondary to her injuries.  The complaint alleges that UPMC failed to provide Ms. Coleman with a similar position within her capabilities, or permit her to perform her old position with modifications.  The complaint further alleges that UPMC effectively terminated Ms. Coleman by instead placing her on an unrequested medical leave with significantly reduced pay such that Ms. Coleman was forced to seek alternative employment.

Lead attorney on this case for the Plaintiff is Erin Rudert.
