December 10, 2014

Kraemer, Manes & Associates LLC has filed a complaint against Western Pennsylvania Teamsters and Employee Welfare Fund on behalf of Lauren Zang in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

The complaint alleges that William Parry, Defendant’s Fund Director and Plaintiff’s supervisor, created a hostile work environment for the Plaintiff and violated her rights under the FMLA. The Plaintiff has alleged that she was constantly berated, yelled at, and criticized by Mr. Parry while in a protected class because of her disability. The Plaintiff suffers from diagnosed anxiety and depression. The complaint further alleges that even after taking FMLA leave, the Plaintiff was contacted and berated by Mr. Parry. The Plaintiff alleges she was not able to file a grievance because Mr. Parry is on the grievance panel and told her that he would shut down her grievance if she tried to file one. The Plaintiff did not attend a meeting that was scheduled by Mr. Parry while she was out of work on approved FMLA, causing Plaintiff to be forced to quit her job due to to retaliatory and harassing behavior by the Defendant.

The complaint alleges that the defendant has violated the Americans With Disabilities Act 42 U.S.C. §12102 as well as created a Hostile Work Environment in violation of Title VII.
