KM&A Files Lawsuit Against Goodwill of Southwestern PA

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Employee Files a Complaint against Goodwill of Southwestern PA for Age Discrimination

Fully qualified employee over the age of 60 overlooked for a promotion when Goodwill hired a younger person for the job instead.

Pittsburgh, PA, June 8, 2017 – Kraemer, Manes & Associates LLC “KM&A” has filed a complaint for age discrimination against Goodwill of Southwestern PA, for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

An employee in his 60’s filed an age discrimination complaint against Goodwill. Instead of promoting Plaintiff, who had worked for the company for almost 11 years, Goodwill promoted a much younger person with only three years of experience at the company. The plaintiff was exceedingly qualified for the higher-paying position posted by Goodwill. Immediately, Plaintiff suspected he had been discriminated against because of his age. Plaintiff asked why he had not been promoted, and he was told that the younger individual had “retail experience.” However, Goodwill knew Plaintiff had four years of retail experience because he included it on his resume. Additionally, retail experience was not even listed under the requirements for the position in the job posting.

Goodwill’s excuse that Plaintiff lacked “retail experience” looks like an attempt to cover-up wrongful age discrimination.
