PRESS RELEASE
FORMER EMPLOYEE FILES SUIT AGAINST PRESSLEY RIDGE FOR WRONGFUL TERMINATION
PITTSBURGH, PA, November 17, 2015 – Eric Kist filed a wrongful termination suit against Pressley Ridge. alleging wrongful termination in retaliating for Mr. Kist’s complaints that he had been misled as to the amount of his compensation.

Mr. Kist was hired in February for a teaching position with Pressley Ridge. When he received his first paycheck, he discovered it was significantly less than he had been expecting. When he brought this up to his supervisors, Mr. Kist was informed that his pay was going to be prorated. His offer letter stated nothing about this proration.

Mr. Kist successfully argued that he was entitled to the full amount of pay he was promised when he accepted the job offer with Pressley Ridge. Mere days after receiving the check which contained the compensation which had been withheld, Mr. Kist was terminated for a pretextual reason after following proper procedure and protocol. Mr. Kist was terminated immediately after some of his coworkers were heard complaining that their salary had not been paid.

Mr. Kist is represented by Kraemer, Manes & Associates LLC, a Pittsburgh-based law firm focused on representing employees and protecting employee rights. The attorney on this case is Elizabeth Pollock-Avery, Esq.

The case was originally filed in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas, but has since been moved to the United States District Court for Western Pennsylvania. A digital copy of the filed complaint is available at docket number 2:15-cv-01660.
